Guidelines on Fart Fetish Stories
Why Write Fart Fetishism?
Eproctophilia is an ideal kink to write about. It's an extremely mild fetish in terms of content, yet appears to be quite controversial. The act of farting is typically considered a violation of social norms and has a stigma to it even among fetish circles. The kink doesn't even require any kind of sexual action or nudity, it can easily work when character(s) are just casually sitting at a table fully clothed, etc. This enables for the creation of stories that are technically arousing (due to the presence of constant flatulence), but don't necessarily require sex and other kinks to be present.
Since farting is a universal action, it can happen to any character. Eproctophilia is also an unpredictable fetish in terms of occurrence: if a character attempts to induce gas, there is no guarantee of when or if the farting will occur (unless of course a story calls for farting on command). The fetish is uncommon, so it automatically draws attention. Eproctophilia is grounded in reality, lending itself to situations both believable and not. Likewise, it can be combined with other fetishes as a writer sees fit. Farting can occur in public and in non-sexual situations in terms of story scenarios, and it can easily have a secret aspect to it.
You Don't Have To Be A Fart Fetishist To Write Fart Fetishism
It's just a matter of understanding the appeal of it to the characters and readers, which is usually rooted in the taboo aspect of passing gas (as well as a typical ability to handle the scent). Since the smell is very likely the aspect that most negatively affects non-Eproctophiles (and some fart fetishists who are turned on by other aspects of farting rather than its scent), a non-fart fetishist writer might want to play it safe and just focus on the sound, length and social taboo aspects of the flatulence.
Alternately, not dwell on the attributes period and settle for just the fact that blatant farting occurred period (relying on the shock value). Though one can go with the opposite approach and really emphasize the smell and/or the other attributes. And the farting can be written as just something that happens in the story, rather than its erotic focus. Ultimately it's a matter of individual preference and what audience one is catering to. One can always establish an alternate DA account for greater anonymity, particularly if one is ambivalent about writing fart fetishism. If nothing else, writing it is an easy (though not necessarily immediate) way to get noticed.
Also, the formula can of course be adjusted to non-lesbian stories (female/male, male/male, anthro, etc.) and non-erotic stories (in which case I'd recommend switching the focus from erotic to stuffing via food and/or weight gain, to cause the most flatulence). The middle ground approach is erotic without the characters ever acting on their desires.
PLOT-RELATED STUFF:
Settings
A public but non-adult setting is suited predominately for indecent, covert, or inappropriate flatulence; a public, adult setting is suited in particular for the most blatantly sexual and/or exhibitionist gas, and private locations (especially places of residence) are suited for all fart situations.
Plot Format
Introduction: this section generally will introduce the reader to one character, typically the Secret Eproctophile.
The Encounter: Where the Secret Eproctophile meets the Bolder Woman. Establishment of attraction typically begins here, alternately can just be when the characters commencing interacting. Bolder Woman can recognize the Secret Eproctophile's attraction from the start, or alternately come to realize it during the Buildup/Thoughts section.
Buildup/Thoughts: Period of sexual confusion on one or both sides. If attraction didn't begin at "The Encounter" phase, can gradually occur during this time. If attraction's already started in the previous phase, can have the Secret Eproctophile go through a period of ambivalence while the Bolder Woman either realizes the attraction and/or debates whether to act on her own desire. This is also when the Secret Eproctophile can have erotic thoughts and/or dreams about the Bolder Woman.
Confrontation (if no confrontation, then it becomes an unrequited desire tale. unrequited will consist of longing, fart fantasizing): This is when one woman (usually the Bolder Woman) admits the attraction to the other woman.
Wantonness: this is when the blatant farting commences in an openly sexual manner. Unleash the wild side of the Secret Eproctophile, and the Bolder Woman's skill at sex.
Afterglow: this is where the ultimate outcome of the relationship is hinted at or announced before the epilogue.
Epilogue: This section covers the fates of the characters, their ultimately relationship status, whether they stay gas fetishists, etc.
Relationship Status Types:
open lovers, close proximity: basic relationship.
couple years or so later: they break up, get back together later on.
doesn't work out, separate: relationship falls apart, but they part on good terms.
fling over the years: they don't become a formal couple, but after coming out have periodic sexual interactions over time.
separate but stay in touch: they find other women, but talk to one another.
long-distance relationship: usually applies when the two women live far away from one another and for whatever reason can't live together.
secret lovers: the classic "forbidden love" relationship.
friends: non-sexual
enemies: the relationship can collapse into outright antagonism, such as over one character's inability to accept her sexuality, personality clashes, etc.
Forming A Story Plot
With regard to story formation, basically think out different ideas and see which ones work best. Don't be rigid in setting it up though, revising is essential for improving the tale. Once the plot is formed, develop characters that can carry it out. Alternately, one can form characters first and then find the plots that are best suited for them. I find that forming many plots and putting them into one file is useful, since then I can compare them side-by-side and get a sense of which ones are best suited for eventual posting. Keep in mind that if a plot feels inadequate, it's best not to use it until it's either up to your standards or put it into cold storage to get back to later. And some story plots may just never work out. When comparing story ideas, go with the strongest ones first.
CHARACTERS
Rely On Two Archetypes: The Secret Fart Fetishist, And The Bolder, Open-Minded Character
Due to the unlikelyness of two proper fart fetishists meeting each other without advance planning, I advocate using two main archetypes in fart fetishism stories: the secret Eproctophile and the bolder, open-minded character. The secret Eproctophile is intensely into gas, but shy and currently conflicted about it. The other character is much more sexually bold and experienced, and while not she doesn't consider herself a proper Eproctophile is flexible enough to try out fart fetishism (and in so doing possibly and seriously get into it). Typically I have the Secret Eproctophile be shy, somewhat insecure, and kind; the Bolder Woman playful, seductive, direct, understanding, patient, intuitive, and curious.
The two archetypes balance each other out: the secret Eproctophile gets the bolder woman into her fetish (usually over a gradual period of time), while the bolder woman helps her embrace her sexuality more. My personal preference usually has the more aggressive woman be into stuffing as well, so that the secret Eproctophile becomes quite gassy (as she gets into stuffing too). Alternately, the secret Eproctophile can be a stuffing fan to begin with and be the one to get the bolder woman into stuffing and/or gas. Whether you write the story from the secret Eproctophile's perspective or the bolder woman's perspective is of course individual preference. Age-wise I tend to focus on characters in the 30s range (early, mid, late), with some 20s-range and the occasional early 40s. The formula can again of course be applied to non-lesbian works, with appropriate adjustments made.
Why Is She A Fart Fetishist?
Generally the more defined the origin of the character(s)' fart fetish, the easier it becomes to establish the plausibility of her eproctophilia (since it's not a common kink). The most common cause of the fetish is just exposure to flatulence early in life (farting contests, accidental gas releases, one's own gas, being around someone who farts constantly, etc.), with the kink surfacing much later. What triggers the latent fetish to the surface of course is what varies greatly. Here are potential causes <explain them>:
1. being near someone (or many people) who keeps casually farting on a regular basis
2. sexual exploration (i.e farting comes up unexpectedly during sex, etc.)
3. a lot of farting all at once, without warning
4. porn (websites, stories)
5. "fart torture" (deliberate face-farting)
6. being pinned down in some way and getting face-farted on by accident (wrestling, butt landing on face by accident)
What Does She Like About Farts?
The appeal of farts for Eproctophilic characters varies, and often a character will have more than one reason for being into flatulence. Here are various ones:
Shamelessness: the blatant violation of a social norm can be thrilling, particularly if the character is fond of covertly passing gas with no one realizing. Recommend using smell-intensive farts there, to emphasize how even her strong gas doesn't faze her.
Exhibitionism: this typically applies to public or very openly erotic private farting. She can enjoy passing gas in public or sexually, as a display of eroticism. More about sexuality than the taboo aspect, though similar to the shamelessness appeal and can easily occur in conjunction with it. Recommend using sound-intensive farts there.
Submission: this generally occurs with fans of being face-farted on, or being ordered to pass gas in spite of themselves. When the farting is about being submissive to another woman. Probably, along with the domination appeal, the riskiest one to use on DA. Long and long farts best released from characters with this reasoning.
Domination: the reverse of the above. Applies to face-farters and those who like to order other women to fart. Risky one to use on DA. Lengthy/smelly farts best.
Smell: She may enjoy the scent of her own gas and/or other women's, due to being acutely aware of how contrarian she's being and/or a genuine perverse enjoyment of it.
Sound: likewise, she may enjoy the noise associated with farting. This appeal can exist independently of the smell one (she may not like or just tolerate the scent, just the noise). This motivation (if it stands apart from the smell appeal) is best used for moderate Eproctophiles.
How Does She Feel About Her Fart Fetish In Private?
Depending on what the author is going for, an Eproctophile's beginning attitudes toward her fart fetish can vary significantly. She may be:
1. Accepting but still embarrassed: she knows what she wants, but is too embarrassed to act on it.
2. Libertine in private, but not in public or openly with anyone else: she's willing to fantasize, but not go any further.
3. Reluctant altogether: she's not sure how she feels, ambivalent.
4. Covert: she's willing to secretly induce gas in other women and inhale their farts, but not go any further than that.
5. Wants to be Openly Eproctophilic towards individuals, but not in public: she wouldn't mind finding women willing to engage in Eproctophilia, long as it was discreet.
6. Wants to be gassy at all times: she wouldn't mind farting in public if she could summon up the will.
7. In Denial: she's turned on by farts and doesn't want to admit it period.
How Does She Feel About Openly Farting Itself?
A character's stance on actual farting may vary well from how she sees farting in theory. Some Eproctophilic characters (in this case, referring to the Secret Eproctophile archetype) may be quite shameless in terms of fantasizing about farting, but very shy about actually acting on their fetish in real-life. They may be privately shameless about actually farting and/or other women's farts as well in private, but not open (farting erotically and/or in front of someone else) and/or public Eproctophiles. She may even be in denial (to what extent is the writer's choice) about her fart fetish altogether. Likewise, this secrecy or denial may apply to how the character sees other farting women. She may only covertly inhale their gas or alternately get turned on in spite of her denial.
With regard to another character archetype, the Bolder Open-Minded Woman (the one who isn't a true Eproctophile and might not become one by story's end), her thoughts on fart fetishism may vary too. It may be:
1. a "one time thing" for her: she engages in Eproctophilia, but "just once" (though whether or not this is the case is up to the writer).
2. "a mistake": she does it, but regrets it afterward (though she may or may not change her mind later).
3. something she did due to being extremely aroused: she wasn't thinking clearly because of hormones.
4. for fun: she liked the sound of the idea.
5. because the other woman talked her into it.
6. sexual experimentation: she wasn't sure, but was willing to try it out.
7. some combination of the previous motives cited, etc.
Her Sexuality
The character's attitude towards attraction to members of her own gender can vary quite a bit (as well as what particular women she is attracted to). She could be:
1. Openly lesbian: self-exclamatory.
2. Somewhat-openly lesbian: most who know her don't know about her sexuality, but some do.
3. Secretly lesbian, but knows she is a lesbian
4. In denial to herself
5. "It's just a phase": character may be going through a temporary period of time when she re-examines her sexuality.
6. Not normally attracted to other women, but has developed the rare occasional attraction
7. Bisexual
In other words, while she may wind up having sex with a female character, she might not necessarily continue. Ultimately it's the writer's choice.

Sexual Or Non-Sexual Approach To Lesbianism
A story about Eproctophilic lesbians doesn't necessarily have to have sex in it (particularly if one is trying to avoid the need for a mature content label on a tale). One can make the farting and affection (or unrequited desire) the central focus of the eroticism. Fart fetish tales can fortunately function as eroticism without sexual activity.
A Note
Kinks will draw in many of those who are into them, well-depicted kinks will draw in the more discriminating, but well-depicted characters in particular will draw in the open-minded who aren't even necessarily into the fetish. This is particularly true of understandable, relatable characters. Characters can make or break a tale.
Older versus Younger characters: personally I prefer to go with older (though youthful-looking) characters rather than younger ones. Due to the range of occupations and locations available for their use, a great range of realistic scenarios as possible. Their greater potential maturity and experience enables one to write better dialogue and situations plausibly (though one can always go with a "wise beyond her years" approach with regard to 20-esque characters). Plus 20-something characters tend to dominate many fetish genres on DA, so using characters in the 30-to-mid-40 range automatically stands out.
How To Stand Out With Regard To Characters:
realistic/believable: Since reality is the world we ultimately live in, grounding it in that helps the audience identify with the characters.
original character: you can tailor the character precisely to the story's needs, without having to worry about finding ways to get existing characters to do what you'd like them to do kink-wise.
older:Generally, characters in fetish tales tend to be younger, so 30s and 40s characters automatically stand out.
sympathetic: A sympathetic character is more likely to broaden the audience appeal, beyond that of those readers who would read the story for the fetish's sake alone.
cultured: the more classy and/or cultured the character, the sharper the contrast with her gassyness.
lesbian but non-anime: Usually gas pairings are male/female; anime's overexposed.
"lipstick" lesbian (link stereotypical feminity with "unfeminine" gas): another contrast thing, emphasizing the stereotypical feminity of the characters with their "not ladylike" flatulence.
MILF or of comparable appearance but don't go the blatant oversexed route (put that in porno): When going for the MILF approach, don't write her as blatantly oversexed (especially since it's a fetish story already).
subtly seductive but still direct (more plausible, more appealing): The subtle seduction approach is far more plausible and appealing then just having two women throw themselves on one another.
don't cop out on glasses-wearers and MILFs: try to have them still act like themselves, even when they're being sexual. Don't do the "she takes off the glasses, adjusts and then throws back her exposed long hair" cliche, it belongs in hair commercials.
subtle angst at most (no whining): Blatant angst is overexposed, and it doesn't exactly endear a wider audience to the characters.
A note on contrast: the higher-up a character's economic status (though I personally go with middle-class), especially if she does white-collar or services work, the more her Eproctophilia's inherent perversity will be emphasized.
Match The Outfit To The Character
The Secret Eproctophile is more likely to be dressed in concealing, looser in fit and/or formal clothing than the Bolder Woman, whose outfit will likely be more sexualized (even clothing that isn't considered blatantly sexual in typical design will have a sexier cut). The Bolder Woman will probably show more of her body's outline, either exposing or outlining certain areas.
WITH REGARD TO STUFFING
Unsurprisingly, since a fat fetishist is writing this, I prefer to have plus-sized characters gain weight while getting gassy (the increase in weight amplifying the amount and intensity of the character's farting). However, a non-fat fetishist writer can get a lot of binge-related flatulence out of a thin character (while not gaining any weight). The character(s) can just gorge themselves to near-bursting, which in turns tends to result in a great many plausible farts. Personally I find the stuffed belly motif ideal for a character who is supposed to release a lot of flatulence in a story, regardless of whether or not weight is gained. If the character moves too much after stuffing, she'll fart a lot (and this includes during sex). Likewise she'll still fart from eating so much even largely stationary.
The farts that will result from being stuffed will generally be either farts related to bloating and/or digestion. The more difficult the food is to digest (especially when the food is processed and/or has components that are naturally difficult to handle anyway), the more potentially gassy a character will be. Getting up too quickly (if a character is in a hurry for instance) or moving too much will tend to intensify the farting, or cause a great deal of bloating. For plausibility, foods that cause farting but aren't particularly fattening (unless this is a weight gain tale as well) are best for stuffing-based flatulence.
Types Of Stuffing (Liquid, Food, Gas) And Their Effect On Gas
There are 3 realistic ways of making a belly swell up: drink, food, and gas. Drink makes the belly sloshy in feel. Gas has the effect of making a gut hard and firm. Food progressively tightens a belly, but it takes a lot of eating (unlike gas which can fill up a belly fast).
The Limits Of Stuffing
Depending on the extent of realism desired, a character's belly can become quite large as a result of stuffing. However, a thin character will be able to eat considerably less than a plus-sized one (due to reduced capacity and appetite). This is not to say a thin character's belly can't become hugely stuffed, it's just much more difficult.
Bloat Vs Gas Release
With regard to stuffing, a writer can opt for a bloat-intensive approach. The character's gut will swell up with so much gas that farting is made quite difficult initially. As long as the bloating is strong, gas-passing will be slowed to a crawl though the resulting blasts will be frequently powerful. Typical use of bloating is gassyness after eating, ensuring a character will plausibly produce many farts over a period of time. An alternate use for bloating is during or after sex. Bloating can also occur seemingly without warning in other instances, such as during times of intense emotion.
Which Character Should Be Stuffed
Personally I prefer to have the Secret Eproctophile be stuffed, usually during a meal with the Bolder Woman. However, the Bolder Woman can stuff herself before the Secret Eproctophile as a writer's means of arousing both characters, etc. For maximum gassyness, both characters can stuff themselves.
When In The Tale Should The Character(s) Be Stuffed?
As a rule, I avoid having public stuffing occur too early in the story (though self-stuffing can work since the Bolder Woman typically hasn't debuted yet). The ideal time to have stuffing begin is when the two major characters meet, at a place of eating for instance. One or both characters can stuff themselves, while getting to know each other. A lengthy period of bonding between the characters allows for more stuffing scenes. More intimate, blatantly sexual stuffing can occur just before or after the two women confront each other over their desires. Each corresponding stuffing should be more gassy and eroticized than the next. Alternately with regard to time, one can have a story open with the character already stuffed, allowing for plenty of gas immediately in the story.
How Eroticized Should The Actual Stuffing Be?
Depending on how much emphasis you want to place on the stuffing, one can eroticize the process quite a bit. If she's seriously stuffed her face, her gut can become so hard and heavy that her breathing is slowed, her belly's skin is tight to the point of shining. If a lot of stuffing is to occur in a story, one can make one or both characters sexually aroused by it (as opposed to the more realistic incidental stuffing approach, where stuffing happens but isn't really sexual to the actual characters). One should definitely emphasize the belly when eroticizing stuffing, as well as the effect on clothing the belly's swelling has.
Belly Rubbing
An advantage of stuffing a character is that it is possible to have more plausible control over the gassyness, via belly rubs (gas-inducing, at a quicker rate of release) and shakes (to induce gas, albeit at a slower speed of release). Rubbing of a stuffed belly will likely cause a character to fart within a short period of time, while shaking of a belly will cause bloating (thus slowing down the speed of farting). This plausibly makes for more precise farting, instead of the gas being expelled more randomly. Belly rubs include belly-against-belly contact.
Clothing For Stuffing
There are two approaches with regard to what outfit a character should wear with regard to stuffing. One is to wear an outfit on that exposes the belly, so that the reader can see the stuffed gut swell as it is happens clearly. The other approach is to have the belly slowly work its way out of clothing (buttoned-up shirt's buttons giving way, t-shirt riding up, etc.), gradually coming into full view at maximum swollenness. Personally I prefer to have the stuffed belly slowly come into view, breaking through the fabric confines.
WEIGHT GAIN
If you're also a fat fetishist and/or want to go the extra mile, one can also have the character gain weight. With increased weight, comes both potentially increased capacity for flatulence as well as increased frequency of farting. Farts can be plausibly quite frequent, and consistently more powerful in all trait areas. An added plus is that the stuffing motif can be used in combination with the fat motif, and more frequently.
The downside is that fart and fat fetishism tend to not mix, in terms of one's audience. Readers are typically either one, the other, or neither...but not often a fart/farting fetishist (even those into just chubby characters). Sure the occasional reader will have both fetishes before first viewing DA or sometime after being on the site, but typically those into fat won't be drawn to farts and vice versa.
You get a plausible reason for a character to fart a ton, but there are potential tradeoffs to that benefit. If you choose to go that route, one can always go with the safe approach and have the weight gain just be chubby (which is less risky than higher weights in terms of acceptability and appeal) and/or not describe the weight gain in great detail. Ultimately it's up to the writer. But if you've gone far enough to write fart fetishism, one more fetish probably couldn't hurt...especially one that increases a character's farts.
Basic Principles Of Weight Gain
A character will gain weight when not enough energy is expended to make up for the calories consumed. When too many calories are consumed, the body will put them into storage. Thus a character who devours calorie-intensive food while expending minimal amounts of energy will gain weight. Foods amazingly saturated with calories will definitely induce weight gain. Initially the character will fill up quickly when she first overeats, but as she gains weight, her capacity for more food will increase. More and more food will be demanded for her expanding bod to sate her hunger. Food that is technically healthy can cause weight if it's calorie-heavy.
Is She Fat To Begin With?
With regard to whether a character begins a story fat or not, there are benefits to both approaches. A character who is fat to begin with can eliminate the need for much explanation and lengthy weight gain scenes, while still allowing for stuffing and additional weight gain. On the other hand, it can be erotic for a thin character to gain weight and become increasingly gassy as a result.
What Is The Cause Of Her Weight Gain?
The causes of weight gain in a story vary. Some characters eat to feel better, because they love food, love to eat, have a natural predisposition to gain weight typically via a slower metabolism, take longer to feel full, because they are fans of the plus-sized look, or feedee-ism. Keep in mind the different causes can be combined, or a cause can evolve over time in the story (for instance, a character gradually becoming a fan of food, rather than starting out as one).
The love of food is particularly suited for stories with an emphasis on varied gas traits, due to the different meals affecting the characters' releases. It also lends itself plausibly to regular meals. A character who enjoys a variety of meals (especially distinct and/or expensive ones) is best suited for this.
The difference between the love of food cause and the love of eating is that the weight gain becomes about the act of consumption itself, rather than the types of foods themselves. Variety of intake is less important than volume, she's much less particular about what she eats. This cause lends itself very well to bingeing.
If a character has trouble feeling full (due to metabolism or just not getting enough food to match energy consumption), it will take more effort for her to get a big gut or gain weight. But this can lead to even more eating (and farting) scenes, as her appetite compels her. Bingeing is plausible, as she may gorge herself to sate a need to feed. A character who doesn't always have sufficiently filling food on hand or one with a high metabolic rate are both likely to eat for this reason.
A feedee character is definitely likely to gain weight, as a high rate of consumption is probable.
Emotional reason: She eats to feel better.
Natural predisposition to gain weight: Her body may just gain weight after consumption by a natural (via a slower metabolism) tendency to do so, which requires the least amount of explanation.
Big body look reason: she likes to look larger.
How Does She See Her Weight, Perception-wise?
How a character sees her weight can play a significant role in her weight gain. A negative view of her existing weight can plausibly slow weight gain dramatically, with fluctuations in weight possible. She could fast and then binge due to very negative attitudes. A positive view may lead to gradual weight gain, though not necessarily dramatic increases. A very positive body image may lead to the most increase in weight. Neutrality about her size may result in subtle weight fluctuations over time, going back and forth.
How Does She View Eating?
1. Shameless glutton
2. Food sampler - she tries everything out, since she loves the various flavors
3. Something she avoids via extensive fasting, which can lead to binges and weight retention
4. Guilty glutton - she overeats on a regular basis, but isn't a fan of bingeing
5. Casual feaster
6. Dieter, but will indulge at times
How Much Fat?
As a matter of personal preference, I go with characters who are in the 400 pound range. Chubby characters are probably the most acceptably fat chicks in terms of a general audience. On the opposite end are immobiles, which probably appeal only to a select section of the WG base. And then there are of course the chicks who are in-between the categories already listed. Ultimately it's the writer's choice.
How Fast?
The speed with which a character gains weight depends on what the writer is going for. Realistically, a character could gain weight over a long period of time or a short period of time, putting on pounds due to excessive calorie and/or fat intake. This would probably take weeks at the minimum. The approach is particularly useful when a writer wants the gaining to be gradual and drawn-out. Alternately, a character can get extremely fat rapidly if the food consumed is hyper-saturated with calories and/or their metabolic rate slows to a crawl. This less realistic approach would be best suited for fantasy and sci-fi scenarios, when characters are to gain weight dramatically within a matter of hours or less (though a writer can of course use it when one wants a character to get fat fast in general).
Firm Or Flabby?
As a rule, I prefer fat characters whose bodies remain largely firm (thought still soft) to the touch and keep their shape (due to having muscle tone under their fat acting as a frame). But alternately, a writer can choose to emphasize the sheer amount of fat present on a character via their jiggling and flab. Different approaches.
The Change In The Farts
A character's enlarged posterior can plausibly alter the flatulence released from it, in terms of traits. The increased size of the butt deepens the sound and gives the fart(s) more of a vibrating quality, as well as making the release more drawn-out.
Eating Times
Another advantage of fat characters with regard to gassyness is that their number of gas-inducing meals can be greater in number and at times outside the traditional breakfast-lunch-dinner lineup. I recommend the fridge raids (good for pre-sleep farts in particular), before-going-to-bed meals (increasing the likelihood of farts during one's sleep and after waking up), etc. Also, eating during sex can eroticize it further, though it requires more plausibility establishment. Post-sex eating is similar. Overeating after any kind of intense physical activity will plausibly prevent calorie-burn-related weight loss.
Weight Gain Plausibility Touches
ambivalence: A character is most likely to be of mixed feelings about her weight gain, unless she's indifferent to it or a feedee.
money issues: Gluttony can cost quite a lot of money, especially ample amounts of feasting.
health: For dramatic and/or realistic purposes, one can include health issues associated with the weight gain.
public and private perception: A character's weight gain may very well be frowned upon by others, so this can be taken into account.
wardrobe issues:The increase in size will necessitate new clothing, the purchase of which can serve as a bonding experience between the characters.
Fat Fetishist Or Non-Fat Fetishist
Characters of course don't have to be into fat to gain weight, or for their lovers to be turned on by their weight gain. The approach I go with in that instance is for the weight gain to be incidental (but not really bothersome either). One or both characters gain weight, but neither has to really mind or be turned on by the increased size. This approach is more realistic and requires less plausibility, though sexualizing the weight gain for the characters can be more erotic. Fat fetishism is not necessarily synonymous with feedee/feeder-ism however. The women can be turned on by each other's fat, but not deliberately seek to fatten each other up on purpose (the weight gain instead becomes independent and unplanned by either woman).
To Feedee Or Not To Feedee
One can go with the feedee approach concerning weight gain, where the goal of one or both women is to gain weight on purpose due to arousal over deliberate gluttony. It requires more setup and plausibility. Feedee stuff is also more blatantly erotic albeit considerably less common than incidental weight gain.
Which Character(s) Should Gain Weight?
Usually I have the Bolder Woman be overweight to begin with, and the Secret Eproctophile gain weight. Alternately, the Bolder Woman can gain weight while the Secret Eproctophile is increasingly aroused (whether Secret Eproctophile gains weight herself along with the Bolder Woman is up to the writer).
Outfits For Weight Gain
If you want the weight gain to be visible to the audience, opt for skin-tight and/or reduced-coverage outfits. Skin-tight clothing has the added plus of enabling the clothing to give way (even ripping) under the expansion, especially if it's a button-up outfit or can ride up. Alternately, one can have a character's weight gain become increasingly obvious due to a habit of her wearing outfits that are sizes too small for her (until she grows into them). In terms of formal vs casual, I prefer characters to gain weight in formal wear since those outfits are more likely to be tailored to a body's outline.
Stereotypes
There are many stereotypes regarding plus-sized women. That they are mean, badly-dressed, not good-looking, lazy, unintelligent, and/or slobs. All of these stereotypes can be countered with regard to characters, and rejecting those stereotypes helps strengthen the story.
Regarding Immobility
Immobility, in weight gain terminology, is the state of a character becoming or being so fat the ability to really move is lost. This is a double-edged sword from a fart erotica standpoint. The main benefit is incredible gassyness from the immobile character, virtually limitless...but there are many downsides. Even among fat fetishists, not everyone is into immobility as a motif. There is also the issue of how and why the character got immobile to begin with. Immobility's cause often calls for a fantasy, feedee, force-feeding or science fiction-based explanation, due to how hard it is for a character to gain that much weight plausibly. And due to the character's immobility, sexuality is inevitably more limited (though the best way is to have another character do the stimulating via pleasuring erotic zones). An immobile character can self-pleasure herself though, using her belly flab to rub up against her pelvic area.
To Keep Or Not To Keep The Weight
One shouldn't let their fetishes interfere with their writing abilities. If the outcome of a weight gain scenario is always certain, there is no suspense. If a character retains weight beyond the ability of readers to suspend their disbelief, plausibility is lost. Hence characters who get fat in a story shouldn't always be fat by story's end. Some characters may get self-conscious about their weight gain, get concerned about their health, lose the emotional rush that weight gain may have brought them, etc. My advice for those stories is to make them realistic and/or melancholy ones (for example, a secretly gluttonous character who starts to get fat backs out in the end, etc.). Compensate for the absence of the weight at the end by working harder to hook the audience via emphasis on the characters. In fetish stories where the ending involves the kink ceasing (fart fetishist in denial retreats back into it), audience involvement is quite important.
Sex and Fat characters (thin on fat, fat on fat)
Naturally the additional weight will change sex scenes somewhat. Speedy sex will take considerably more energy on the part of both characters, though underlying muscle tone can compensate for this. Take the increased weight, greater body surface, softness of the figure and (in the case of thin on fat) size difference into account.
Alternate WG/Eproctophilia
While I prefer voluntary gluttony and Eproctophilia, there are of course alternate approaches for writers to go with. For sake of comprehensiveness, I have included them. I divided them into these categories:
force-feeding: involuntary gluttony leading to gas
force-farting: character is farted on against her will
hypno-gas: character's farts are not of her own free will
hypno-WG: character eats while mind-controlled
addictive farts: one character's gas becomes irresistible to another
addictive food: uncontrollable gluttony, leading to gas
farts that cause WG: gas leads to WG leads to gas, basically continuous cycle
REGARDING FARTING
Gas Induction Methods
Generally farting occurs when via accidental muscle relaxation, bloating, difficulty handling certain foods, stress, exposure to excessive heat or cold, digestion complete, not long after waking up or when about to go to sleep, and general post-eating. Can also happen in one's sleep, and during or not long after sex. Fantasy methods include formulas, flatulence exposure (causing additional farting), and magic.
When Should Farting Occur, And How Much?
As a rule, one probably doesn't want to overdo the flatulence in an Eproctophilic tale. One wants to give the reader just enough of what they want (female flatulence), without so much that it loses its erotic impact. My advice there is: save the strongest farts (in terms of power, smell, sound, length) for post-orgasm, orgasm and sex scenes. Have the majority of the farts occur though during the non-sex scenes (particularly during stuffing, flirting and latent fetish awakening scenes), to build up erotic tension. Don't deploy the best farts in your erotic lit. arsenal right away.
Going to bed fart: Happens just before going to sleep. Can be used for any number of situations, such as a character passing gas on a lover before going to bed, a latent fetish awakener if another character is present, flirtation, etc.
Fart in one's sleep: can be used to show a character is prone to flatulence, as a fetish awakener (if another character walks in), a source of embarrassment if the farting woman wakes up, something a lover can inhale after one of them has fallen asleep before the other, etc.
Waking up: flatulence that occurs not long after a character comes out of sleep. Can be used as a "next day after sex" motif, with one character farting near or on the other woman. Likewise, it can be used as a story opener or latent fetish awakener (roommate wakes up near her already awake roommate and lets loose a big blast, etc.).
Walking farts: Can be used as a latent fetish awakener, a form of flirtation, embarrassment, etc.
Shower/pool/bath farts: Good for relaxed farts or embarrassed blasts mainly.
Enclosed farts: Suited in particular for embarrassment or blatantly sexualized farting, especially if the gas is very powerful. Can also act as a latent fetish awakener.
Public farts: Embarrassment or subtle flirtation is best for these.
Relaxed farts: These in particular can be quite strong, especially if they're released unconsciously. Good for embarrassment situations in particular, or alternately a character getting comfortable with her gassyness.
Flirtation Farts: Gas trait strength should depend on the desired blatantness of the flirtation, with subtle flirtation being the most naunced.
Difficulty processing food: Can occur after stuffing or a difficult-to-handle meal. Ideal in particular for latent fetish awakening or embarrassment.
Stuffing: farts during this can act as a source of embarrassment, latent fetish awakener, flirtation, etc.
Foreplay/basic sex fart: the farting can occur during general sex motions and/or take center stage (via farting positions).
Orgasm fart: Alternately, a writer can have a character hold in all or most of her flatulence during sex and then only release it during orgasm. For maximum erotic effectiveness, make the gas release(s) as powerful (which trait(s) to maximum is writer's choice).
Post-Orgasm Fart: My personal favorite motif-wise is for a character to fart a huge blast after she's already had sex and is talking to her lover. The act of her passing gas then shows just how uninhibited she's become, especially if she is pleased with herself after she farts. Best kind of fart to use then is an explosive type, either loud and/or smelly...and probably best drawn-out in length.
Traits Of Farts
what aspect of the farting are you focused on?
With regard to fart traits, different writers will focus on different things. These are what I considered the main traits of flatulence:
Power: the force at which the fart is released. Can cause the gas to fill the surrounding air very quickly or the anus to open greatly and/or vibrate.
Smell: varies greatly depending on the type of fart.
Amount: the actual quantity of the gas being released. The more is released, the longer any scent will last and the more dense it will.
Sound: also varies greatly in both volume and pitch.
Types Of Farts
Unsurprisingly, to avoid repetition, it helps to know what types of farting can be used and when in a story. These are some various ones:
Hissing fart: sounds like air slowly escaping. Can be brief or drawn-out. Best time to deploy is as a casual fart.
Silent fart: noiseless, good for moments of embarrassment or secrecy (since the farting character could be attempting to hide the fact that she passed gas). Smell varies, usually strong.
Air fart (no scent): basically an escape of air. Can be used as a buildup to more powerful (in terms of the various trait strengths) farts
Wet fart: liquid-sounding fart, sounds like heavy bubbles escaping. More noisy than anything else, trait-wise. Suited for embarrassment or shamelessness.
Water fart: Unique in that the gas is visible, realism-wise. Good for any scenario that involves a character's butt being immersed in water, with the force of the fart represented by how fast the bubbles escape the posterior, the amount of gas represented by bubble size, sound somewhat lessened and altered, and smell delayed. Particularly suited for scenarios when one wants to have the fart occur, but have the scent make its presence known last.
Blatting fart: moderately noisy-release, difficult to describe from a sound standpoint. Temporarily forces the anus open somewhat due to the blast's power, though smell is usually mild to moderate. Best used for exhibitionist, shameless, or easily embarrassed characters as well as post-orgasm and thoroughly stuffed (especially if the consumed food is hard to process)scenarios.
Thunderous fart: in summary, a fart that's just noisy above all else. Best deployed when a character fails utterly to hold in a fart, during a latent fetish triggering scene, asleep, or post-orgasm.
Hungry fart: this fart tends to smell very strong in terms of scent. Comes from deep within the bowels, so it's a "hardcore" fart. Very intensely Eproctophilic characters would be fans of it, alternately can be used to show an Eproctophilic character's limits, hunger or embarrassment.
Stereotypical fart: basic cartoon-sound stock effect fart. Would use when a basic fart is sufficient, especially when nothing is happening at a given time in a story.
Mellow fart: vaguely mushroomy smell, hard to describe. most common occurrence is with regard to processed food bought for home consumption. Noticeable aroma but quite mild. Best use: during or after stuffing. Is also suited in particular for initial flirting and relaxation scenes, due to the mildness of the smell.
Acrid fart: smells vaguely vegetable, tends to be associated with leafy-green meals. Best use: during or after stuffing.
Fast food fart: smelly, hard to inhale but not a nose-holder. Good for binges involving processed meals or embarrassed scenes. Dissipates fast. Best use: during or after stuffing.
Roll-down-the-windows fart: one to use in car scenes, especially for "latent fetish awakening" moments. Overwhelming smell, hardest to get used to.
Stomach-pain fart: Drawn-out, followed by a strong and dense smell.
Chain-fart: continuous micro-blasts one after the other, as if almost one big fart. Best time to deploy would be during face-farting, orgasm, and post-orgasm.
Explosive fart: an overpowered fart, feels like the anus has been knocked open temporarily. Similar to thunderous, but the focus is on power and is more likely to smell. The sound is also much deeper in pitch. Good for characters who have become very comfortable with farting.
"Grass-killer" fart: intensely strong-smelling fart, oddly weak in the other attributes (force, sound, length). Scent is delayed only briefly. Good for moments when a character is being involuntarily farted on in particular or embarrassed. Only very Eproctophilic characters can get off on this fart, due to just how strong the smell is.
Clothing For Farts - Exposed Versus Tight)
The tighter and more layered the clothing, the more concentrated the fart, reduced in range and speed, and the slower the rate of dissipation. Downside will be a reduction in sound and gas range, but it's good for close-up farting and instances where you want the fart(s) to linger. For greater flatulence range and sound, have characters wear looser/less layered/minimal clothing. Gas will dissipate much faster. Minimal clothing is well-suited to loud farts and gas that is meant to flood an area.

WITH REGARD TO SEXUAL CONTENT
When To Be Sexual
Deviantart's policies regarding erotica are like navigating a minefield where you're sure where the majority of the mines are, but not all. Don't dwell in certain areas with regard to description. I avoid describing sex-related fluids altogether ("wetness" is sufficient in my eyes), keep masturbation stuff (both solo and mutual) unbelievably vague and brief, leave all those various devices that tend to pop up in pornographic literature out, etc. The stuff I've written is already perverse enough (it's Eproctophilic erotica), figure it's better safe than sorry to be quite conservative on the more traditional sex-related aspects. I also avoid describing any kind of oral activity in great detail or length, relying on implication and vagueness. In other words, to the point and handled as minimalist as possible. Foreplay (kissing, putting hands in certain spots, breast-play) is safer to dwell on than the actual sex (oral and vagina-against-vagina grinding, in this case). Dialogue with regard to sex is also kept brief and to the point.
Don't have the story consist predominately of sex, especially if it's a long tale. If the story winds up like that, write in more stuff elsewhere to make up for the difference and edit the sexual stuff (though you can post it the unedited version on another website of course). You can have sexual stuff going on, but I'd recommend doing a lot of character development and such to compensate. The better the non-sexual stuff is and the less graphic and lengthy the sexual material, the less likely the story will get taken down. Deviantart doesn't approve of pornography. If you really really want to play it safe, have the story be about unrequited desire (where they never get to really act on their feelings) or romance. Ultimately the safest standard bet though is the "long building desire" approach, where the two characters slowly want each other sexually till they act. But make the desire plausible and make the characters believable. Above all, read the site's policies on what constitutes pornography.
EROTICIZING FLATULENCE
When the gas gets blatantly sexual
The main way to eroticize farting (in sexual position terms and when it's called upon to be a central sexual focus) is to do face-sitting in combination with face-farting. This involves one character planting her ass atop another woman's face and farting into it. An alternate approach is to have one woman's face right next to another woman's butt as flatulence is released from it (for instance, when the farting woman is standing and the other woman is kneeling so that her face is right in the fart's path). The woman receiving the farts is openly turned on (though how her arousal is expressed is up to the writer). The trick to is to keep the erotic tension going (especially since the farting is unpredictable, thus often resulting in the Eproctophilic woman having to wait a bit for more farts). My advice is to have the Bolder Woman tell the Secret Eproctophile not to masturbate during the erotic farting, in spite of her wanting to. Then all the Secret Eproctophile's sexual energy goes into the foreplay and sex. Focus on the image of the farting woman's butt as it either hovers before the other woman's face, or is atop it. Emphasize the waiting intervals inbetween farts, the Eproctophilic woman's arousal (especially when the farts occur), etc.
Farting as latent fetish awakener: make the fart powerful enough (via the gas traits that the Secret Eproctophile likes). Focus on the Bolder Woman's butt, both women's reactions (particularly what the Secret Eproctophile is thinking), and the gas itself. Alternately, the farting can happen over a period time (if the flatulence happens constantly) and not be described in great detail. This step can be skipped if the Secret Eproctophile has already discovered her fart fetish by story's start.
Farting as flirting: with regard to this, the Bolder Woman (if it fits her character) should use her farts to draw the other woman in. Focus on the Bold Woman's butt and the two women's reactions, the gas doesn't have to be particularly powerful or frequent. This can be skipped if the farting character isn't the type to use her farts as flirtation.
Farting as buildup to sex: I recommend this occurring during scenes where at least one character is eating (doesn't have to lead to stuffing and/or weight gain). The characters are increasingly becoming aware of the eroticism of flatulence (the Secret Eproctophile becoming more open about her fetish and her sexuality, the Bolder Woman becoming increasingly willing to at least experiment and encouraging the other woman to act on her sexuality).
Farting as foreplay (two methods): Depending on how central the fart fetish is to the two characters, farting can occur while more conventional sex is going on or play a more prominent part. In the case of the more central approach, the farting woman goes off of her way to pass gas before the other woman, making it take center stage. When the farting is incidental, it occurs but unconsciously (the more conventional foreplay is the focus of the two characters). Deploy rather powerful farts for this stage.
FINAL THINGS TO REMEMBER
Vary the outcomes: While one can have the stories end the same way, it can make them a bit too predictable. Plus if the outcome is not certain, the story can grab the reader more. One of the dangers in writing fetish-oriented tales is that the writer can succumb to "formula writing", where a universal template can make all the stories too similar. Even in stories where the characters do not pursue fetishism further, plenty of fetishism can of course be present to compensate. My advice for stories like that is to place extra emphasis on the characters, get the audience involved.
longevity of story: A "fap piece" (all blatantly fetish and not much else) will get you at least some of the fetish-orientated viewers, but it likely won't get you the viewers who are looking at the other aspects of the story. Worse, the lack of emphasis on the other story elements will increase the chances of the tale being deleted by DA's censors. Nor will such stories necessarily endure in the public consciousness. If better fap pieces arise, the stories like it you write may very be ignored. That sudden flood of story views can become a trickle easily. The better your writing, the longer people will read it even when material of similar quality emerges. Also, the better the story, the more readers you'll get, the more exposure you'll receive, and the longer the stories will be viewed by many people over time. In other words, don't settle for just the fart fetish readers alone when writing.
A Note on Fart "Mechanics": The more enclosed a location, the longer a character's fart's smell will last and the more concentrated it will be. Clothing, bedsheets, sleepingbags and such can trap a fart's smell as well and lessen the speed of its dissipation. The tighter together the butt-cheeks, the more vibration (due to butt-cheek movement) in the fart sound will occur.
Don't feed the trolls
There will of course be replies, posts, etc. that are less than tolerant of what one writes. Ignore them. Simple as that.
Finally, this is all advice, not rules. Adherence is not mandatory.
